President Biden has proposed a new law allowing illegal entrants into the USA to be eligible for work authorizations, later green cards and possible eventual citizenship. It is expected to go into law at the end of summer, 2024.
The current pending requirements are as follows:
- Initially called a “parole in place “ application process.
- Illegally entered into the U.S.A. probably eligible if only have one illegal entry.
- Must provide proof that applicant lived in the U.S.A. for ten consecutive years prior to June 17, 2024.
- Proof of marriage to a U.S. citizen with no time frame for that marriage.
- Have three years to apply for a green card,
- Will be eligible for temporary work authorization.
- Will require needed translation of foreign language documents.
- Will require a criminal background check (biometrics).
- USCIS filing fees still need to be determined.
Will be shielded from removal or deportation
Children thereof will also have relief
